The YES Society Structure

Formed and controlled by a properly constituted Local Partnership (LP), each YES Society is made up as follows:

15 x Grade 9 (Standard 7) pupils (YES Pioneers)
15 x Grade 10 (Standard 8) pupils (YES Champions)
15 x Grade 11 (Standard 9) pupils (YES Entrepreneurs)
3 to 6 YES Advisors (EWET trained teachers)

Society leadership is the responsibility of the youths themselves, with the YES Advisors playing a facilitating role.

THE YES LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE IS:

Society leadership.

Elected from and by all 45 YES Members.

+ Society President
+ Society Vice - President
+ Society Secretary
+ Society Treasurer
+ Society Constitutional Advisor
+ Society Public Relations Officer

Team leadership.

Three committees, each elected from and by the 15 YES Team Members in each team - i.e. YES Pioneers, Champions and Entrepreneurs .

+ Team Chairperson
+ Team Deputy - Chairperson
+ Team Secretary
+ Team Treasurer
+ Team Constitutional Advisor

Society and Team committee members are deliberately unduplicated so as to afford as many students as possible the opportunity of developing leadership experience and qualities.

Should an LP operate more than one YES Society then those societies will form a local YES Chapter.

The various LPs and their YES Societies in a given area will constitute a YES Region.

All the LPs and their Societies within the boundries of any one of the nine South African provinces combine to form a YES Province.
